Hi, I’m Kendra Valentine.
Story Strategist, Author & Creator of Strategic Story Design
Kendra Valentine is a Story Strategist who helps businesses, brands, and creative projects find their story and tell it clearly.
I work on story development, worldbuilding, creative briefs, and translating brand into story. From workshops and training to consulting on projects, I help teams and organizations communicate their value in a way that actually lands.
Also, the author of How to Pitch (Almost) Anything (Pearson Business, 2025).
I believe that every brand, project, and organization has a story worth telling.
What is Strategic Story Design™?
The number one rule of clear communication is this: lead with how you help, not what you do. Most people get it backwards.
Strategic Story Design™ is the approach I developed to fix that.
It's built around three practical tools that work together. You can start with any one of them and see results right away.
Let’s break it down.
These three tools are the heart of my book, How to Pitch (Almost) Anything, published by Pearson Business.
The Brand One-Pager — Your strategy on a single page. It captures who you are, who you're for, and what makes your work valuable, so that everything you create starts from the same clear foundation.
The Pocket Pitch™ — A short, flexible way to explain what you do in any situation. Not a script you memorize. A structure that helps you lead with what matters to the person in front of you, whether that's a client, a colleague, or someone you just met.
The H.E.L.P. Checklist — A four-point quality check you can run on any piece of communication before it goes out. H is for how you help. E is for empathy for your audience. L is for less words. P is for proof for credibility. Simple, and it works every time.
I work with organizations, founders, and creative teams at the point where the story needs to get clear.
Here's what that looks like in practice.
What I Offer
-

Workshops & Trainings
Hands-on sessions built around the tools in the book.
Practical, immediately useful, and designed for real situations rather than theoretical ones.
Available in person or online, for individuals and teams.
-

Speaking
Keynotes, panels, and fireside chats on communication, pitching, and translating ideas into language that connects.
I've presented to international audiences across events, institutions, and corporate programs, and I bring humor and real examples to every session.
-

Consulting
Story development, creative briefs, and brand translation for businesses, institutions, and creative projects.
I work best at the beginning of a project, before the brief is written, helping you find the story before you start telling it or coming in to weave the “red thread” in a produced project to fix narrative gaps.
-

Story Development & Narrative Design
For teams building worlds, experiences, IP, or branded content.
I have a particular interest in kids and family media, themed experiences and parks, brand homes, food & retail and projects where brand needs to become story.
My new book on how to pitch almost anything
How to Pitch (Almost) Anything — Pearson Business, 2025
Most people struggle to explain what they do in a way that sticks. Not because their ideas are unclear, but because no one ever gave them a simple way to say it.
I wrote this book to change that. Three tools, one clear approach, and a way of thinking about communication that works whether you're introducing yourself at a networking event, pitching a project to a client, or writing copy for your website.
Available now at Amazon and major booksellers.
